Annual Programming
TUWA has a number of annual programs that are established events that connect TUWA members and the Tulane Community. Additional programming added throughout the year will be announced via Eventbrite and on our website.
This annual event kicks off TUWA’s academic year and serves as a welcome event for returning TUWA members and newcomers alike. Over the many years that it has been hosted at 2 Audubon Place, the Tulane President’s house, the offerings have evolved into a light lunch buffet. Friends old and new gather to learn about TUWA’s upcoming programming and to honor those new to Tulane. TUWA’s Fall Coffee is open to Tulane faculty and staff and their adult family members, as well as alumni, and Tulane volunteers.
Named for Tulane’s 11th President and his wife, this lecture series features a current topic of Tulane instruction or research, selected from different fields of study across different disciplines. This lecture is made possible by the generous support of the Higher Education Fund endowed by the Longenecker family.
Each December, TUWA members gather for this social event to celebrate the end of the Fall semester and upcoming holidays.
Don your olive and blue and join TUWA in cheering on Green Wave Athletics at sporting events throughout the year:
- Women’s and Men’s Basketball
- Women’s Volleyball
- Men’s Baseball, and more.
TUWA members experience a guided group tour featuring a historic site or locale important to Tulane and/or New Orleans, along with an optional lunch.
TUWA’s requisite Annual Meeting takes the form of a members-only meal, shared in honor of award recipients and to elect the organization’s new officers.
